Thanks for posting Kelsey-Rose! How did you like the assignment? I looks like you and Alecia both had some fun with it! That's great to see!
I'm glad to see that you took a couple of different approaches.... you used characters to illustrate ideas, but then with delicate you used a flower and with "Forever and Never" you were more abstract with your approach.
Do you have a favorite? My personal favorite is "Comfortable and Uncomfortable." I appreciate the humor and how you decided to illustrate the words by putting your characters in "environments" and adding details like the sweat! It really made me as a viewer feel those sensations.
Did this exercise give you any ideas for future pieces? Or get you thinking of different ways to approach your image-making?
Something I would encourage you to do is to think about incorporating some collage elements as well. Remember this is a sketchbook - ideas don't have to be fully formed - it's a place where you can experiment and challenge yourself in different ways than you do in more "finished" work.
Yes I had fun with it! It was nice to just do them quickly without thinking too much (sort of like an exercise!) because sometimes I over think things. My favourite to draw was the "Comfortable and Uncomfortable" one. I will try to experiment with collages, as I am for the current assignment!
